My favorite weather forecast in Dubai is Widespread Dust. It's going on right now. Here's the Weather Channel logo for it. --->Personally I think it feels a bit like the bastard-child of a sandstorm and Southern California's June Gloom.
However there's no wind or sand blowing about, so it's not a sandstorm, and although it feels foggy it's redonkulously hot, so it's not June Gloom.
It's also a bit like smog, seeing how everything is covered by a beige cloud bank, but it's naturally occuring and not man-made.
But I guess "natural smog" doesn't have the same ring as "widespread dust" ...
