You might have noticed that the United Arab Emirates has been absent from the long, long list of countries getting the iPhone.

I bet you didn't notice that our Gulf neighbor Qatar and tiny Indian Ocean island Mauritius made the cut. You might remember that's where we took our honeymoon (see Going to the Honeymoon Now! and Back from Mauritius!).

Nope, the phone companies in the UAE are too busy doing useful things like blocking Skype to get the world's most awesome phone.
