The A-Team logoThose of us who grew up in the 1980s didn't have cowboys. The Lone Ranger, Gunsmoke, Bonanza and Davy Crockett were all kind of goofy, and just why was Gene Autry always singing?

Instead we had the urban cowboys - wisecracking rebels like John McClane, Axel Foley, Michael Knight and the A-Team.

Man, I love the A-Team.

If you didn't grow up on it, you probably don't get it. And I can't even explain "it". They had guns but never killed anyone, had interactions with sexy (at least, in a 1980s way) women that were only platonic, and plans that never really came together.

Man, I love it when a plan comes together.

But every week they saved the day, and the next week it was more of the same. In fact, when I moved to Los Angeles after college I felt like I'd already been there, what with the majority of The A-Team and Knight Rider episodes shot around the San Fernando Valley. Driving around it felt like my TV childhood, albeit with fewer car stunts.

Anyway, I've heard rumblings about director John Singleton wanting to remake the show as a feature film for awhile now. That makes sense, what with the slew of Knight Riders, G.I. Joes, Dukes of Hazzards, Transformerses and all. But this article today says they're going to shoot part of the flick in Dubai:

Weird.

The A-Team
