Ever since we got back to Dubai in August we've bought the Daily Show with Jon Stewart on the iTunes Store and played it through to the television using the iPod (see iPod, TV and Me).

Until last week.

I mean, we paid for the video, downloaded it - which takes forever now, thanks to Du's cleaning of the internet (see Dubai Media City Internet Blocked, and fun stuff like that) and then we tried to play the video ... and it wouldn't work. Same thing the next day. And the next.

The crazy thing was I hadn't updated iTunes, or my computer, or the iPod, or anything. I did nothing differently.

Now I read online that other people are having the same problem - iTunes vids failing on 5th gen iPods.

Apparently Apple "hasn't offered an official explanation or solution to the problem" yet.

But I found a solution. Instead of legally buying the show (which won't work), we can illegally download it faster and cheaper (even free-r).
