A handout satellite picture released by the United Arab Emirates' Civil Aviation Department June 5, 2007 shows Cyclone Gonu approaching the Gulf states. Oman said on Tuesday that an unusually powerful cyclone in the Arabian Sea had begun to hit its eastern coastal areas with winds of up to 160 mph and waves as high as 39 feet.
